I started UE as simply a YouTube channel, recording videos and being entertaining. Although the content became more educational or enlightening with every recording, I still wanted to do more and reach more people. In my research I learned that consistency was a major way to succeed in the content creation world, so I started batch recording. When the demand finally came, by way of subscribers, I wanted to have the consistent content to supply. While in my groove I started working on a book I wanted to publish that would help young girls.
All the data I was storing was slowing down my computer and eventually I was unable to save anything or edit videos. Have I mentioned I’m severely challenged whenever technology is involved? So I did more research and learned an external hard drive would fix my problems. I stored EVERYTHING on my new hard drive. My videos were uploading much quicker now and I had so many videos to share. During this time I took a class on book writing and shortly thereafter finished my first completed book draft. I was rocking and rolling as they say. Then I got wind knocked out of me.
It was time to upload a new video, so I sat with my computer and proceeded to connect my hard drive. Click, click, click, and more clicking. My techies out there know exactly what that means. For everyone else, in short, my hard drive was damaged beyond repair. My last video was a year ago now. And while I haven’t given up that love, I’ve used my ”down time” to focus on my original desire to help more people. So maybe it was a blessing of sorts.
This was the start of Uneducated Education consulting. I’d been giving advice for years to almost everyone I knew. The giving of my time resulted in years of experience and built credibility. Now I’m honoring myself by practicing part of what I teach and widening my reach to the community. Although this is a new direction for the brand, it is a second start on the goal. I will resume the videos soon.
